Frequently Asked Questions

Queer Compass Travel is designed for gay men who value safety, comfort, and
genuine connection when they travel.
Our guests are typically people who:
Enjoy social connection without pressure
Appreciate thoughtful itineraries and a relaxed pace
Value respectful, emotionally mature group dynamics
Want to travel somewhere new without feeling awkward or out of place
Many of our guests travel solo, some travel with friends or partners all are
welcome if they align with the spirit of the trips.

Yes. Queer Compass Travel trips are currently designed by and for gay men.
This allows us to create a shared understanding, a sense of ease, and a group
dynamic where guests don’t need to explain themselves or feel on guard.

There is no fixed age range.
Our trips tend to attract a mix of ages, united more by mindset than by number. We
care far more about emotional maturity, openness, and respect than age.
If you’re unsure whether a specific trip is right for you, you’re always welcome to ask.

Safety is central to everything we do.
We:
Choose destinations with LGBTQ+ safety in mind
Work with licensed, professional travel partners
Set clear behavioural expectations for guests
Host and support the group throughout the trip
That said, all guests are responsible for their own actions, insurance, and personal
wellbeing while travelling.

All trips are capped at a maximum of 16 guests.
Small groups allow for:
Better group dynamics
Easier connection
A calmer, more flexible experience
Hands-on hosting and support
We believe smaller groups create better trips.

Yes.
Queer Compass Travel trips are hosted experiences, not self-guided group
bookings.
Especially in the early phase of the brand, trips are founder-led, with on-the-ground
hosting and coordination throughout the journey.
Over time, trained Queer Compass hosts may also lead trips, following the same
standards and values.

We aim to be as inclusive as possible, but not all trips are suitable for all needs.
If you have specific accessibility requirements, medical conditions, or concerns,
please contact us before booking so we can discuss whether a particular trip is
suitable.

Absolutely.
We encourage open, honest conversations before booking to make sure our trips are
the right fit for you.
If you have questions, concerns, or just want reassurance, you’re always welcome to
get in touch.

Not at all.
Many of our guests are:
Introverted
Quietly social
New to group travel
Nervous about joining solo
Our trips are intentionally designed so there’s no pressure to perform, socialise
constantly, or be “on”. You’re welcome to join group activities, take space when
you need it, and engage at your own pace.

No.
Queer Compass Travel is not a party or circuit-style travel brand.
Some trips may include social evenings, bars, or optional nightlife depending on the
destination, but partying is never the focus and never expected.
If your main reason for travelling is nightlife or hookups, our trips may not be the
right fit.

No.
While friendships and occasionally more can naturally form, Queer Compass
Travel is not a dating or hook-up focused experience.
We prioritise a group environment that feels respectful, comfortable, and consent
aware for everyone.

Typically:
A deposit (usually 20 percent) is required to secure your place
The remaining balance covers travel components and is paid in instalments or
by a set date before departure
Full payment details are always provided clearly before you book.

Cancellation terms vary depending on the trip and timing.
Because travel components are booked through third-party suppliers, refunds may
be limited or unavailable once certain deadlines have passed.
Full cancellation and refund terms are outlined in our Terms & Conditions, which
you’ll be asked to review before booking.

All guests are expected to:
Treat others with respect
Act with emotional maturity
Honour consent and personal boundaries
Follow local laws and cultural norms
Contribute positively to the group environment
Discrimination, harassment, excessive intoxication, or behaviour that makes others
feel unsafe will not be tolerated.
Queer Compass Travel reserves the right to remove a guest from a trip if behaviour
standards are breached.

Yes.
All guests must have appropriate travel insurance that covers medical care,
cancellations, and personal belongings.
Proof of insurance may be required before departure.
